All shares will contain a variety of cuts including pork, beef, or chicken. If you have a dietary restriction (for example no pork) let us know in the comment box when you sign up.
Example: 1 chicken, 2 lbs ground beef, 1 beef roast, 1 package steak, 1 pork roast, 1 package of pork chops, 1 pound of sausage.
Due to ongoing low volume, we may not be able to offer cuts like flank steak, skirt steak, or tenderloin. If available, you can purchase these as an Add-On to your share.

Why
Eating meat sustainably doesn’t just mean supporting a farmer who uses sustainable farming methods – it also means paying attention to how we consume our meat. This means using all the meat available from an animal, so nothing goes to waste. Take skirt steaks and flank steaks, for example – these are very popular cuts, but did you know that there are only 2 skirt steaks and 2 flank steaks per cow? That means there’s a lot of other beef left to eat!
That’s where our CSA comes in. “CSA” stands for Community Supported Agriculture, which means that it’s a program that is sustained by the financial backing of its members, or community. Traditionally, members share in the bounty produced by the farm, and in order to share the abundance with the entire community, the farmer divides up what they have among everyone. The thought behind this is that we can provide members with a variety of meat based on what we have available. This, in turn, lends itself to a sustainable farming practice that will help keep us farming for years to come!
How
- Place your Order – Shares are sold as a monthly, recurring subscription. You will sign up and have your credit card processed monthly through our Square system. We will also provide you with access to make custom orders – in case you want to add on to your monthly share, etc. Please specify pick up/delivery when you sign up.
- Pick Up – Delivery
We’d love to see your pretty faces, so you have the option to pick up at the locations and dates below. We can offer home delivery to the cities listed below for an extra $5 fee – if you choose home delivery, we’ll send you a link to pay the delivery fee each month separately along with a reminder with delivery details. This is when you can place an add-on order for extra stuff!

FAQ
Can I still order a bundle like before?
Yes, you can still order a one-time bundle through our online store starting in November. You can also place a custom order. The Meat CSA is best for those who want a monthly recurring subscription. If you’d rather order occasionally, or order a la carte – just use our online store. Bundles and online orders can be picked up at ANY of our winter market dates, not just the monthly meat CSA pickup date.
Can I make special requests for my Meat CSA share?
You can specify any dietary restrictions or preferences (such as “no chorizo”), but the idea of the Meat CSA is you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit – if you want a super special order you can order online or see us at market. The Meat CSA is a monthly share that is perfect for people who don’t mind working with unfamiliar cuts!
Can I switch between Home Delivery & Farm Pick-Up?
Yes – that’s why we will charge your delivery fee separately. When you sign up, please indicate what you’d like to start with and we will go from there.
I need more than 10 pounds of meat a month. Can I get a double share?
You can order more than 1 share if you’d like – this would be an excellent option for large families or if you want to split the share with another family, friend or neighbor. If you’re seriously interested in this option, I would encourage you to contact us at orders@greenmachinefarm.com so that we can send you a special link to simplify your subscription (you might end up with triple the emails if you sign up for 3 shares via the link we are providing right now).
I’m an Egg CSA Member and I’d like home delivery. Can you deliver my eggs too?
We can try – the problem is we worry about the eggs freezing during the winter. If you are an Egg CSA member we can bring you eggs if you would like – please comment when you sign up.
What do I need to do for Home Delivery?
We will deliver on the dates specified between 4-7 p.m. Dates and times are subject to change based on winter weather. We will communicate with you if we need to make any changes. Please leave a cooler outside in a visible spot for us to place your items. If we don’t see a cooler, we’ll knock on your door and attempt to hand-deliver. If there’s no cooler and you’re not home, we will try to call you to discuss if you’d like us to leave your share outside, or if you’d like us to bring it to our next market for you to pick up. If we need to do this, we will send you an invoice for a $10 restocking/convenience fee – so please be sure you are prepared!
